Our Training Field

After some talks and debates about what is needed at the training field. A structure for classroom based training is at the top of the list.  Our city has approved funds of 1.5 million dollars to help build a structure at the training field. These funds have been given to the fire department to build a fire station. This will not be an operational fire station. At first the station will be built, and the inside will be divided into individual classrooms. The reason for this is so we can start getting other fire departments and private companies into our city to train on our field. The quicker we can get people to schedule training on our field the faster the city will see a return on the money that was allocated to the field.  The faster the city sees a return on their money the quicker we can get other props built to aid us in dealing with some of the disasters we might come across in this city. Also the Fire Chief has approved all crews to use the field for training. Whether you are pulling hoses to train a rookie the proper way to pull hoses off your truck, or you are going to burn in the burn building. The only thing asked is to get with the F.I.T. on your shift to schedule your training, especially the burns. All of the F.I.T.’s are trained on how to use the building safely and efficiently!!!!! Remember guys use the building and the training grounds, we wanted it, now use it.

Currently the Union and the city are in negotiations for the 2017-? contract.
